A long over due update about our Church auction in December.

I haven’t had the “mojo” to do much of anything… I can’t find the time to sit down and do the things that I really want to do. I think being 6 1/2 months pregnant has something to do with that. :) A few more months, and we’ll finally meet our first little guy. :)

With that said, I’ve been wanting to update you all on how the auction went last month, so I’m finally doing it. There’s so much that I’d like to say about it. So many blessings. I was so overwhelmed with all the help and donations that we got from friends and Church members. There’s a lesson that I re-learn every time I do an event like this, and that is to trust the Lord with all your heart… He will always get things done!!!! And so He did!!!! I was very nervous that we were not going to have enough auction items, but literally 2 or 3 days before the auction, people brought so much that we had to make extra tickets! :) The Lord works on His own time, not ours!!! And by now, I should just trust Him and not worry. After the event, I was so amazed at how things turned out. I don’t even know what words to use to express the way I feel.

I just know that without Him, this event would have never happened. I am so thankful that I have an awesome God!!!!! We had 26 auction tickets, a bake sale and a lot of small gifts for people to buy on the spot. We made $1,321.00 and we had VERY, and I mean VERY few things left over. All proceeds are going towards our Church Building fund, and I’m so excited that I’ll get to be part of our Church building!!!! I had people ask me if we were going to do this again, and people made suggestions about how to make it better next time, etc. I’m not sure if we’ll have another one. If the Lords puts it in our hearts, we might. We’ll see.

Here are some pictures of the items that we had. There are a lot of photos… :) You can click on the pictures to make them bigger.

This is our set-up. We were able to use the same corner as last time, and it worked out great.

I altered wooden “JOY” letters, and a friend of mine made spool Christmas trees (I think that’s what she called them.)

The advent calendar that I posted before… Here’s a LINK to where you can see more pictures and directions on how to make this awesome calendar. :)

I altered another crayon wooden box. It turned out really cute, if I say so myself. Here’s a link to the boxes that I did for the first auction.

The lid to the crayon box.

I also altered a bigger box for cards. I love the way this turned out.

This little box came with a new wallet that my husband got. I just couldn’t get rid of it. The cover was leather-type stuff. I really, really wanted to do something with it and I think that this turned out super cute. :)

I used a large Poinsettia stamp, white StazOn ink, and red and green stickles for sparkles… So cute… :) I added some ribbon to go around the lid. I painted the box itsself with cream colored paint.

Inside the box, there was jewelry from a friend who made this beautiful necklace and earrings.

I made three paper Christmas trees. I forgot to take a picture of the third one, sorry… Here’s a link to directions.

Christmas banner made out of felt….

A Christmas wreath, banner, and three Christmas trees were auctioned off as a set.

An altered note book. This was so awesome to see come alive… LOL :) For more pictures and instructions you can see yesterdays post HERE…. This note book was also shown at Practical Scrappers yesterday for their patterned paper challenge.

I made these cute little note pads. They each cost me literally less then a $1 to make. The frames were $.39 to $.69 cents each on SALE! Awesome. The paper I had, the note pads (OK well with the note pads it was more then a $1, but still ) were I think $3 or $4 for a pack of 4. I made 10 small note pads and 10 larger note pads. I think the small one was 5×3, and the large one was 7×5 or something like that… not sure on the size, sorry ladies. Anyways, I used Gina K school stamps, and I just LOVE her stamps. A friend posted these cute note pads on one of the boards I visit, and here are the links to the blog that she found them at…. HERE and HERE….

This is what the note pad looked like out of the package and on your desk. These were a BIG hit!!! Everyone LOVED them. They were so easy to make, too. If we do this again, I will definitely be doing more of these!!!!!

Another handmade advent calendar that was made by a friend.

We had some awesome snack gifts as well. Someone donated a couple of Christmas jars that we were able to use. This was one of them. It was a Christmas gingerbread house cookie jar that included Hawaiian cookies.

Wrapping kit. I made close to 40 Christmas tags. Altered boxes for gift wrapping and more. For instructions and close up pictures of the boxes, you can go HERE

Some tags that were included… and another altered tin…

Burger King cup holder and 4 Starbucks coffee bottles. For instructions and more pictures you can go HERE….

I had a wooden recipe box that a friend of mine altered. She also altered matching salt and pepper shakers, and we included some kitchen towels and recipe cards.

Altered chipboard box ….

…that included a very beautiful jewelry set that a friend made.

A card holder with some hand made cards.

A Beautiful baby boy quilt!!!! This was made by a lady from our Church.

I think that’s about it!!! :) Thank for stopping by my blog today, don’t forget to leave a comment!!! Hope you enjoyed all the updates… :) If you have any questions, feel free to ask, I’d be happy to answer.

HUGS and Blessings!!!

Altered – Christmas List note book.

Here is the Christmas List note book that I altered for the silent auction last month.

I saw this note book at one of the blogs that I follow. And I just had to make it, it was so beautiful!!! The only thing is I used a big note book. I couldn’t figure out how she got a pen the same size as the note book… LOL :) then my best friend said that she probably used the small note book… LOL :) Well I had the DUH moment that’s for sure!!! :) But it worked out anyways. :)

You can find the directions for this note book at Poppy Paperie blog…

Here is what mine turned out like… :)

front cover

Standing up and you can see the way the ribbon ties.

The tabs that I had put in side. I didn’t label them so the person that will get it could do it them selves.

The envelopes inside, front.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. :) Hope you enjoyed it!

Altered Burger King cup holder and 4 Starbucks coffee bottles.

Thursday is an Altered projects day at Practical Scrappers. So go to their blog and check out all the FUN altered projects they have up right now. So much talent. :)

Before I go on unto today’s project. Don’t forget that the Tri-Challenge at PS is going on right now as well. You have till TOMORROW to enter in too the challenge to win a prize. Check out all three blogs that are involved in the challenge. Practical Scrappers, Frosted Designs and StuckOnUSketches.

Today I wanted to share with you a very FUN project that I did for PS this week.
I’m so excited about it. This project is also for our Craft Silent Auction at our School that I’m hosting for our Church Building Fundraiser in December.

This would also be such a FUN gift to give to some one for Christmas. Yes, I said Christmas!!! Did you all know that Christmas is NEXT MONTH!!!! This year has gone by so fast!!! I’m thinking that a lot of our gifts this year are going to be handmade. At list that is something that I would like to do.

Couple of month ago we took the girls to Burger King through a drive through. With our drinks we got the cup holder. Our BK is 3 min away from our home so we went home to eat our food. I looked at that cup holder and the firs things that came to my mind were the Starbucks bottles that I have been collecting for altering. The once that I had were the tall once so they would be perfect for this cup holder.

So last week I finally decided to do the project. It was so MUCH fun. I got to use fun papers, paint, die cuts that have been sitting in my folders for what seems like forever now. And some fun and new tricks. I really had so much FUN doing this.

First to start this project you need Burger King cup holder or I guess any other cup holder or what ever else works for you. Acrylic paint, what ever color you want to use on your project, 4 Starbucks bottles.

Here is what my cup holder looked like when I started painting it. I only painted where the paper was not going to go on. I did 3 cots of paint to cover up the “Have it your way” words. The paint also made the card board some what stronger.

This is what the box and the bottles look like after I was done with everything, all 4 sides. Isn’t this FUN???

Used:
Ginger bread man die cuts by Creative Memories.
Lollipop die cut from Cricut “Paper Dolls Dress Up” cartridge.
Snowflake stickers “Holiday Time” from WalMart.
White stamped snowflakes is a stamp from Martha Steward Christmas stamp set. Love the snow flakes in this set.
Stayz On white ink.
White gel pen.
Red acrylic paint.
3 different Christmas or just red ribbon.
Holiday sentiment stamp that I got at a garage sale, not sure what company it’s from doesn’t say on the block.
Cricut Accent Essentials cricut cartridge for the shape of the tag.
Gold Christmas jingle bells (I think that’s what they are cold) that I picked up at WalMart.
Homemade Flower Soft, white. LOVE LOVE this stuff!!! :)
White card stock.
“Marrymint Candy Shoppe” Christmas paper by American Crafts. This paper is so beautiful!!!
SU scalloped punch.
Blue chalk for the edges.

Here are some up close pictures…. :)

Bottles next to the box. I also painted the lids on the bottles in red same as the box.

Here is what the tops of the lids look like.

Up close of the Homemade Flower Soft. I love Flower Soft, but have only one color right now. On Practical Scrappers board some one posted that you can make your own Flower Soft. I was so so excited to find that out. Here is a link with pictures and a video of how to do this Handmade Flower Soft. I’m totally addicted right now and this saves so much money for me… LOL :) It was so easy to make and was so much fun to play with. My girls thought it was real snow when I was done with the project…. hee hee :)

If you got any questions about this project let me know by leaving me a comment bellow…. :)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope that you liked this project and it gave you some inspiration for your own handmade gifts this Holiday Season.

Blessings!!!

Memory Game and altered wooden box…

I LOVE just LOVE these wooden boxes. They come in call kinds of sizes and I’m so ready to go and get the big one that has 2 layers to it with a glass on top and is BIG. I want to alter that one… hee hee :)

Anyways, our second daughter had a birthday party to go too this past Saturday. As you all read we had a really busy day that day.

The little girl turned 4 and I decided to do an Animal Memory Card game for her with an altered box.

I got the box from a craft store here on the island of course. Used cricut Animal Kingdom cartridge to cut the animals. Accent Essentials to get the scalloped squires for the cards and on the box it’s self. CTMH stamps, don’t have the stamp set in front of me to get the name of it. But it’s the one with the animals on it… :) Buttons, flowers, jewels and some animal stickers for the sides on the box. Oh, I also laminated the cards, this way they will live longer.

The cards are 4×4 and the animals are (if I remember correctly) 2 1/2 or 3 inch size. I had 10 animals, 20 cards.

The little girl LOVED her gift and they played the game while they were still at the park where the party was at.

And here are some pictures.

The cards.

The box it’s self. I painted it with pink paint as you can see. :)

The lid on the box. I forgot to take a picture of the back of the cards but on the back of the cards I had the same words stamped on “Life’s a Jungle” with flowers from the same stamp set.

Lid more up close just because….

Sides and again sorry about the blurry pictures.

Again, Thanks for looking… :)

"3 Wooden Decorated Boxes" for silent auction. Lots of pictures.

I got the wooden boxes from Ben Franklin Craft Store again.

Painted with red and yellow acrylic paint. I actually had a friend paint them as I was working on more the one thing at a time and she offered to help. So that was a big help!!! :)

Used mod podge for the paper. Used lots of different cricut images and other die cuts that I had laying around.

I have one of the crayons boxes for my girls and they love it. The crayons don’t seem to be getting broken. I like that part as I get tired of picking up little peaces from crayons.

Also used Prima flowers, bug brads, buttons, scrappers floss, stickles.
All kinds of papers.
Cricut cartridges that were used are: My Community, Life’s a Beach, Doodlecharm.

Here are some pics… Again there’s going to be a lot of pictures…

The set.

"Freindship" jewelry wooden altered box for silent auction.

I’m really upset that the pictures of this box didn’t turn out good at all. You can’t see any details at all. The things that I wanted people to see the most are all blurry… But I’ll post them anyways.

This was so much fun to do though. We had a lot of people wanting this box but only one was able to win it.

Wooden box came from Ben Franklin craft store. Painted with pink and green acrylic paint. Stamped large flower with foam flower from K&Company. Then I went over with a white jell pen to make the flowers pop a little. Ribbon from WalMart. Angel charm with “HOPE” in the middle from WalMart. Prima flowers with buttons that also came from WalMart. The flowers that you see on the lid are rub-ons from K&Company. I got them at Walmart as well.

The word “Friendship” and the swirls in the corners are CTMH stamps and I used StazOn white ink to stamp it on. And jewels that I got from Target.

The box also came with 2 girl bracelets and 1 necklace that one of my awesome friends made.

Here are the pics….

"FAMILY" wooden altered letters/word for silent auction.

I know I’m posting lots of pictures. So I hope that you all don’t mind that. It’s just that when I’m searching for something and I need pictures to see how it’s all done and up close always helps. So here I am posting lots of pictures.

I just LOVE how these letters turned out. I just wish that my pictures turned out better. You can’t really see the stickles and the colors all that great.

But here we go anyways.

The letters were donated to me by my friend Ivy from SS and now a very good friend in real life. She’s awesome!

I used CM papers (don’t remember the name of the pack), Crystal stickles on the flowers, jewels that I picked up at our new Target… (hee hee :) ), prima flowers and ribbon. I used glue dots to keep the ribbon in place where I tied the knot.

Here are the pics..

Altered wooden box that I did for my mom….

I had a lot of fun doing this box. This one is smaller then the one I did for my self.

Mom wanted me to do it in yellow and blue, Ukrainian colors… :) So I did. Plus right now she LOVES yellow.

Used:
*Yellow acrylic paint.
*Cotton White StazOn
*ribbon.
*Clear Gem Stickers by Martha Stewart (found these in the wedding and cake decorating section at WalMart)
*Prima flowers
*other gems
*CTMH Treasure life stamp set for the flowers, leafs on the box and the words on the lid.

Here are some pictures.

Mom’s name in English means “Faith” so I picked up some charms that has “faith” on them and added to the box.

Close up of the flower on the lid. This flower stamp came from Hero Arts. I added some jewels to the middle of the flowers.

Mom LOVED her box.. :) and I’m so glad that I had time to do it for her before she left back home.

Thanks for looking and hopefully this will give you some ideas for your altering projects! :)

My altered button, chipbaord, brads and other fun things organizer!!!

I absolutely LOVE this box… :) When I saw it all kinds of ideas of how to alter it went through my head at the store. I’ve seen so many ways to organize your chipboard letters, shapes and buttons and other fun things. I just had to get this box at our local Ben Franklin craft store. They have some really awesome boxes. So if you have one of these stores near you go check what they have.

Used:
*Nutmeg Brown Acrylic Paint to paint the box inside and outside.
*K&Company Specialty Paper
*Mod Podge
*two colors of ribbon.
*Jeweled flowers by Flora Doodles
*CTMH Playful Flourishes stamp set.
*Cotton White StazOn
*Clear Gem Stickers by Martha Stewart (found these in the wedding and cake decorating section at WalMart)

This is what the box looked like when I got it. As you can see I already started painting it.

All painted.

And after it was all done.

I have buttons and some charms in there right now.

Up close shots of the lid.

I also found a smaller version of this box at the same store right before my mom left so I altered it for her. It turned out really cute. I’ll post pictures of it later tonight.

Thanks for looking!!!! Hope you enjoyed it!

Altered wooden box for crayons…

I’ve been altering practically anything and everything I see in the house… LOL:) You can say that I’m on a spree for altering things right now. But oh it’s so much fun!!!!! :)

This is a box that I did for the girls to keep their crayons in. Our old box was getting really well… just old… I saw and idea at 2peace for a crayon box and I loved it. So I went to our local Ben Franklin and picked up this 4×6 or 6×4 wooden box with a lid… and it was only $3.99 so that was cool. :)

I used my cricut to cut out all kinds of images and the word “Crayons”. I used Doodlecharms and Plantin SchoolBook cartridges.

Lots of all kinds of papers. White jell looking pen, some chalk and buttons… I love buttons right now. :) They are so adorable!!!!

So any ways, here are some pictures of my box… :)

Make sure to come back… I’ll be posting more fun things soon.. :)

Thanks for looking!
